I have Wolf-Link too. First it's great to have him in BotW but I soon realized that he's pretty useless at the same time. With only 3 hearts he gets killed pretty easily outside of the Great Plateau and he makes sneak attacks (which I love) almost impossible. Unfortunately I had to stop using him.

Apparently he gets more hearts if you used the Amiibo in the TP-remake. Also I think you can order the wolf to sit still (at least tips in the loading screen tell me that) so that he doesn't eat stuff, that may also allow you the sneak attacks.

I like the animation for the wolf to appear, it reminds of the TP animations of the shadow world.
