I'm also certain the NX will be a 2017 release. At most, it might be released in one region at the very end of the year. Especially with the recent reorganization at Nintendo, which probably is going to delay things a bit.
Looking back at the Wii's latter life,it looks a lot like the Wii U at the moment. 2011 only really had Mario Sports Mix, Wii Play: Motion, Kirby, Rhythm Heaven, Fortune Street, and Skyward Sword. Prior to 2011, a couple of those were unknown, and some were not released in some regions until 2012. That's about five retail games per year on the Wii in 2011 and 2012.
The Wii U is going to get SMTxFE, Pikmin 4, Pokken, and Zelda. Mario Party 11 is more likely than not, probably in 2017. Retro is probably going to release something or another in late 2016 or early 2017, three years after Tropical Freeze. HAL Laboratory will probably release another 2D Kirby in 2017, continuing the 3 year cycle they've had going lately. Not to mention the inevitable third party collaboration and/or middle-tier game like Captain Toad. That's at least on par with the Wii's latter life.
