Putting Sales aside - Do you consider the 3DS a better handheld than the DS was?

15 wins for 3DS, 4 wins for DS, 2 ties. 3DS beats DS by a big margin. And that doesn't even take into account, that I can play all DS-games on my 3DS. And 3DS still gets more games, MH4 and Codename STEAM are coming at least.

I probably forgot one thing or another. Still 3DS has such a good lead, this will not change anything.

Ds is freezone, so you could get your EO2 and EO3 (the best one) on VG+ or any import site without any problem. That's what i did. -> Ds win

Devil survivor and devil survivor 2 are on Ds + Shin megami tensei : strange journey.

Pokemon black white (and white black 2) were way better than X/Y.

FF 4 heroes of light is better than bravery default (for me). Same for 999 who is better than last reward.

 

And i don't even talk about the rpg, my favorite genre, with many games you forgot on ds, such as :

7th dragon/ 2 fire emblem/disgaea/DQIX/ffTacticsA2+FF12 RW/Golden sun 3/Infinite space/Knights in the nigthmare/Lufia/Luminous Arc 1+2(+3)/Lunar knight/magical starsign/Mario and luigi :bowser story/Rune factory 2+3/TWEWY/Valkyria profile Covenant...

 

Ds is far better than 3ds, it's obvious. Maybe the 3ds will be closer to the ds near the end of her life, but for now...

I may get EO2+3 later, but currently I wait if they get remakes for 3DS, that I would prefer. You're right, currently DS will win in this area if you are willing to import.

Well, I may get Devil Survivor then. Hmm, if I do this, the DS might win in this area, until SMT IV and Persona Q hit europe, then it will be tied.

For me Pokemon XY is better than BW. The artstyle works for me and think outside it's all perfect, I'm not a fan of the camera in Luminouse City. Also Online works on the 3DS way better than on the DS, so these functions are improved a lot in XY. And that is important for an Pokemon. And lastly Pokemon Bank also adds value.

I already decided that I will get heroes of light. I will see how that works for me. Of the RPGs: I should look for the Fire Emblems, this is a series I really like. Also I might get TWEWY and Golden Sun. Still, the 3DS has also lots of good RPGs. For Bowser Story for instance you have Dream Team on the 3DS.

Even if I give DS in a few areas the win with such changes, the 3DS still leads by far. And you have to remember: it is all subjective. For you some games may have a different pririority than for me, so for you the DS might be better. This consideration above is only for me.

The only thing that I really really miss on 3DS are thre CING-games like Another Code, Hotel Dusk, Last Window. That is an area the 3DS is lacking.
