Fixed Nintendo made a massive blunder with naming the console. Their bread and butter where the casuals last gen, the only group that does not know what a console generation is. Both Sony and MS make it clear with their naming that its all about a new console. Nintendo added a "U" to the end.

Sounds about right. Everyone knows that 1 is a bigger number than 360, thus clearly signaling a follow-up.

No, but there is a big enough difference between the 2, and lets be honest it would seem that the Xbox crowd is a bit more up-to-date then the Ninty crowd.  Why didnt they just name it the Wii 2 or Wee Too? That would have sent a good enough signal IMO.
