Mario Kart needs this!

I personally think that the Greater Mario Universe has enough characters to populate future installments. Heck, I think MK8 could have had a roster without babies, Metal characters, or Koopalings. None of the following characters from the Mario franchise appeared in MK8; they either appeared in previous entries but not this one or are overdue for a racing role:

• Birdo
• Boo/King Boo
• Bowser Jr
• Broque Monsieur
• Diddy Kong
• Dry Bones
• E. Gadd, M.D.
• Fawful
• Geno
• Goomba
• Green Ghost (Luigi's Mansion 2)
• Hammer Bro
• Honey Queen
• Kamek
• Monty Mole
• Nabbit
• Paratroopa
• Prince Peasly
• Toadsworth
• Wiggler

Plus you have various WarioWare, Donkey Kong, and Yoshi-themed characters. As well as characters that I forgot about.

Point being, Mario Kart could easily have 45+ franchise characters with no babies.

 

This is not to say a cameo or two would be unwelcome. However, they would have to be the exception to the rule, like 3rd party characters in Smash Bros games.
