Well, at least one dev that is honest. Not the "WiiU cannot handle the game because of less power" or "If we release something for WiiU, it shoud utilize the gamepad right"-crap. This at least is honest:
Take-Two believes that Wii U just doesn't have the consumer base to warrant its attention right now. "Our strategy is to meet consumers where they are," Zelnick elaborated.

To all that claim missing Wii and 3DS-content. Well, Rockstar and TakeTwo aren't much into handheld games. They made Chinatown though, but it didn't sell well. Probably because their offerings are meant for home console. For Wii the statement still holds true: "Take-Two believes that Wii U just doesn't have the consumer base to warrant its attention right now." Do you think a GTA would have sold well on Wii? Consumer base doesn't just mean the basic numbers, but also the demographics. And he is right. GTA on WiiU would be bought by some for sure, but it wouldn't by far reach the numbers of PS3 and X360 version. I'm aware that these consumer-base will not be built, if they don't start it to cultivate with games. But I can't blame them. Such a thing is a risky and expensive work.

goodness A Ninty fan that gets it.

I didn't get it as a surprise. I did say it all along. They don't release games, because they don't expect big sales. May the sales big enough for profit? That should be easy, especially porting from PS3/X360. But still that are resources you have to put on that project, and the same people could on more profitable things. That doesn't mean 3rd-parties get a free pass. To have a userbase, you ave to try to cultivate them. Big Monster Hunter sales didn't came out of nothing - Capcom worked many years to achieve that. Many multiplat-game-makers trained the buyers to get their games on other platforms than on Nintendo platforms. We see that was successful now. That perception may differ for different genres though. Rayman Legends sold mediocre over all platforms, but still at WiiU at the same level than on PS3/X360 despite the much smaller userbase. That's the result of NIntendo already establishing the WiiU as a platform for platformers. Knack doesn't really change the perception. And as you try to paint the picture, that the 'Nintendo fans don't get it' (including the unsaid but hinted 'stupid' before Nintendo fans) - that's similarly true for these Sony fans. Just recently I saw a thread asking where the big franchises are on Vita. Well, duh. Let's think ....
