The same case could have been made about duel analogs and FPS's. The are a poor substitute for mouse and keyboard.

And I think shooters play wrong with dual analog. Success and best fitting control scheme seemingly don't go always hand in hand. I also would say, a Wiimote is great for shooters and in combination with the stick on the Nunchuk for movement even superior to keyboard and mouse (where you move with wasd). But only a few shooters were made for Wii.
