First of all, Just Dance was gobbled up by the casuals, not the diehard Nintendo fans. Unfortunaly for Nintendo, casuals aren't gobbling up the Wii U. |
Well, Nintendo didn't cater to the casuals so far with the WiiU. That's why WiiU-sales are bad and Just Dance also sell not as good as on Wii.

And second, your subpar comment is the exact problem. Nintendo fans who feel that no 3rd party can come close to their beloved Nintendo, regardless of the quality of 3rd party games and Nintendo games. Unfortunately, the Nintendo fans that disagree with this are in the minority, as sales show, so have no choice but to buy a 2nd console for great 3rd party games. |
LOL. I own a lot of 3rd-party for Wii and WiiU. For Wii it is around half my games. For WiiU it is an even bigger share. I can everyone waiting for Mario Kart recommend to try Sonic Racing for instance. And I will buy MH3U, Lego City and most likely also NFS. But some games of 3rd-parties are gimped versions, denying that is simply closing your eyes. Do I need to say FIFA? So going on and saying Nintendo-fans are to blame because they don't buy that shit is ... wrong. Also calling out for not buying late ports. As good as Darksiders II, AC III, Batman and others might be, they were all released on other platforms earlier. And many Nintendo-fans already own them.
What will you say, if WiiU-version of Watchdogs sells better than PS4s? That is not unlikely, as at that point WiiU probably has the bigger install base (expecting Watchdogs this year). Are in that case Sony-fans to blame? I fully expect the game will sell best on PS3 and X360.
That said: Nintendo-fans will buy 3rd-party-games: if they have a basic quality, are not later than on other platforms, are not gimped and generally cater to the audience of the WiiU. That to assure is the job of the 3rd-parties - and of Nintendo. They wouldn't sell their games, if they would fail at this (and they do sometimes with some games). Not the consumer is to blame, if the companies done a bad job - that not in all cases means the game is bad, but it will not sell if it not target the audience of the console.
