What happens when a developer creates a game of passion (IE the game _they_ want to make and play) and it turns out to be a niche game that very few buy? |
And here (bolded) is a big BIG problem. 10 years ago the game-market was much smaller. Games were sold at lower prices, the average gamer had fewer games and there were much less gamers to begin with. The industry has grwon incredibly. If this much bigger market with much much more money in it cannot support game devs these days, while the way smaller market did that for game devs back then, then the companies today make something very VERY wrong.
