Without a higher moral code backed up by faith in a higher power, our society is doomed. If one believes that death is an ultimate escape, what's to stop a distrubed individual from carrying out a senseless act then offing themself? If you believe that death is a gateway into judgement for how you live your life, this is not such a tempting option. The real problem is the soul of the individual, and that cannot be solved by laws. |
Crime rates where higher in the dark ages, that time where most people believed into judgment after death. Therefore I doubt that would help.
