but born this way came out on a friday.. so it only had 3 days to sell.. other wise it would have neared 1 million records in a week.... since it sold more it's 2nd week.. after selling 448k in 3 days..
and.. born this way broke itunes, when the song released as a single last february.. so there's no way to figure out how quickly it hit #1... when itunes started working well again.. it had been 3 hours later.. and born this way was #1

Besides, a record is a record. It's lady gagas fault for not releasing it earlier so she could have a full week of sales.

Yes. My only source is wikipedia at the moment, but I've heard it claimed several times. Most of the albums were sold in the US, because she's a country star. So of course gaga has a tad of a sales advantage, because her music is in other countries, where Taylor's music is american patriotic anthems. I've heard Gaga sold 65 million though, but Taylor has so by far and away sold more albums than Gaga in the US.

Album sales are not the same as record sales. Records sales encompass album sales AND single sales. Taylor swift has sold 20 million ALBUMS
