Here is my good deed of the day:

This morning my cat had a mouse in its mouth and it was dropping it and hitting it, and then picking it up again - torturing it basically. When I saw this I ran to get a tin of catfood and banged it and my cat came running. I then walked over to the petrified mouse and lifted it up and walked across the road to set it free in some woodland.

Sorry to burst your bubble, but depending on how badly your cat mauled it, the mouse probably died anyway. Or if it was unable protect itself or escape from another predator, then it also probably died. Nature preys on the weak.

Did you pick up the mouse with your bare hands? It could have a variety of diseases, so if not you better hope you washed you hands afterwards.

No, the mouse lived. I watched it scuttle off into the distance, and there was no blood. And yeah, I picked it up with my bare hands, but I washed them afterwards.
