Nintendo has violent core games: Metroid, Star Fox, Battallion Wars, Fire Emblem.

Ninty never made such gaemz, most of their IP dates back from the NES/SNES era, I think their latest core IP was Pikmin from the GC gen. Correct me if Im wrong tho |
They created some for Wii: Xenoblade Chronicles, Pandoras Tower and ... Disaster Day of Crisis. The last one may answer the OP. It is a violent core game from Nintendo, but it sold badly. Maybe Nintendo wanted to concentrate on more successful titles.
