From what i remember the limit is once every thirty seconds or so, universal. Supposedly it used to be worse, limitations set in place in Soriku's heyday, but that was before my time...

Why does there have to be such a wait?

Because if there wasnt you would post 100 times a minute in the 'lets play the word game' thread....
