I reposted the question in the other thread because I think mods will lock this one or get rid of it. Nintendo did alot of stupid things to appeal to the west. I doubt the cross did anything to boost Zelda's sales and acceptance in the west, infact I'd find it more confusing since Nintendo clearly did not know the significance of the symbol. Or if they did it was sorta low to use someones religion to market your product.

Then again Nintendo made Mario and Donkey Kong to satisfy the west because they didn't think the origional game would appeal. I guess they made some good and bad decisions when it came to bringing products west!

The thread could be saved if Galaki edits the OP to talk about the shields instead

Also, it's pretty weird that a site this big doesn't have a merge option for Mods. I've moderated a couple of forums, and you could easily merge duplicate threads - I think that's much better than hidding the thread in question.
