Because Japan is different from the rest of the world, the biggest effect always takes place on the first week. Plus have you actually checked that there hasn't been any advertisement for the bundles? That would be down right stupid from a marketing point of view. What's the point of even releasing something if you are not telling people that you will? And the Wii is dead in Japan, let's face it, this was the bump due to the new bundle.

It's quite tragic.
