This really does sound like it was based off a previous prediction he made but someone dug it up and made a story about it. I read the source and it doesn't specifically say when he made the prediction, but what I read did sound like something he said a while ago.

But seriously now, you're just one pissed of Xbox 360 fanboy thats got her knickers in a twist over some article that may not shine the most positive light on your precious console. Go play Halo 3 or something, I know from a post that you made you love having two in your hands.

I think Pachter just does this so he can't be wrong. So if the 360 ends up in second he'll say "Hey, I predicted that!" and if it ends up in third, he'll say "Hey, I predicted that".

Or rather, they will say "Hey, we predicted that!"
