A sequel would probably perform like Shaun White: World Stage. It would underperform because those that already own the game would scratch their heads at the thought of buying it over again and those that don't have it would rather buy the original for cheaper.

Of course, I do suspect World Stage will eventually see a sizable sales increase, kind of like Konomi's Dance Dance Revolution sequel.

Actually, I think there are quite few examples of Wii games that offer specific experiences, seeing sequels suffer becasue their predecessors are still selling well. Just Dance would definitely fit that mold.

I'm a mod, come to me if there's mod'n to do.

Chrizum is the best thing to happen to the internet, Period.

Serves me right for challenging his sales predictions!

Bet with dsisister44: Red Steel 2 will sell 1 million within it's first 365 days of sales.

“Just Dance is Ubisoft’s fastest-selling game on Wii. It was vital for us to get it trialled by consumers. Integral to this was a strong TV campaign with major spot buys during the likes of The X Factor supported with shopping centre tours that took part around the country. The game was even picked up by The Gadget Show and Angela & Friends on Sky One. The Just Dance brand is growing and we hope to follow up the success with new iterations." - Brand manager Rachael Grant

I didn't even get to finish my previous sentence, Ubi has a Just Dance sequel planned.

Natal and PS3 Wand versions confirmed (by ME)... and now we see a reason for Natal and the Wands coming out, so that the 360 and PS3 get the same games as the Wii has.

keep it coming ubisoft, your shovelware still sells

Just Dance is not shovelware.

According to the only source that matters* it is!

*No, not real people; Metacritic!

Man Wii's had so many sleeper hits its not even funny. One thing that kind of baffles me though. See I have no interest in this game whatsoever, but obviously many people do. Why is it some people become pist off that a game that they may not like is selling? Maybe selling more than a game they do like? So?

Diversity should be very welcome and is a neccesity for gaming to grow.

On a side note..has anyone ever seen a commercial for NMH's? Silent Hill? Anyone? I haven't, but I don't watch TV much any more. I wonder if Ubi actually advertised Wii games if they'd have better luck...or rather more successes like this one. Red Steel could be big for them if they wanted it to be.

Bet between Slimbeast and Arius Dion about Wii sales 2009:

If the Wii sells less than 20 million in 2009 (as defined by VGC sales between week ending 3d Jan 2009 to week ending 4th Jan 2010) Slimebeast wins and get to control Arius Dion's sig for 1 month.

If the Wii sells more than 20 million in 2009 (as defined above) Arius Dion wins and gets to control Slimebeast's sig for 1 month.

Why he fuss? If they wouldnt do a new Just ance game, they would develop another Petz game. So who cares.

You're mistaken.

Most of those people are not upset that Let's Dance (and other "casual" games) are doing well. They're delighted! When the well-marketed "casual" titles sell great on the Wii, while the completely-under-the-radar games like Silent Hill perform like most people don't know it exists, they can crow that third-parties should not, in fact, transfer their A-teams to Wii development, since Wii owners are apparently happy with games made by the C-listers.

Ah, I see the error in my ways. It is so obvious now! In fact a thread previously enigmatic has revealed itself to me as being quite simple as well. Thank you my good friend for enlightening me.

Eurogamer gave it a 7, and are one of the few reviewers that actually attempted to review it from the point of view of those likely to buy it, rather than reviewing it based on graphical performance and it's lack of online multiplayer, like most 'hardcore' reviewers would...

If it had been broken shovelware, then it would have been given a low score by them regardless...

so basically ubisoft hasn't learned anything? They are probably gonna release the sequel for the 2010 holiday season and it's gonna fail.

Pretty much this....
