be4 you say Genji is crap, I would like to remind you, than you have mentioned excite truck....

And yet I specifically remeber most reviewers saying the 360 versions of those games were better.......

How long did it take for oblivion PS3 to come out?

Ninja Gaiden was May (I believe), The Darkness was august (bombed), Graw 2 was late this year as well(bombed), and Dirt and Folklore just came out.

I was mentioning games that came out in the launch period (I think Rainbow Six was not launch period so scratch that off the list) but if you wanted me to name games that have come out in the first year that the 360 was around that are amazing games I'd be happy to do so!

GRAW, Gears Of War, Dead Rising, Rainbow Six (definatley came out in 06), Carbon, Call Of Duty, Quake 4, NFS Most Wanted, COndemned, Dead Or Alive 4, and Saint's Row just to name a couple that came out in the first year.

Now Diomeses amaze me with the staggering amount of games that are wowing us on the PS3 in the past year. 

Nothing good till 2008 

1. If you had played Excite Truck you would know it's a good game that just lacked content (though I still play it every now and then when I want a fun race).
2. If you would go back and look at my scale for deciding if a console is worth buying you would know that the only thing that matters is personal opinion. So that means it doesn't matter if I think Genji is crap or if you think Excite Truck is crap.
3. Just in case you missed it, my handy little formula for deciding if a console is worth buying or not is: if ((number of released games) * (price of games for the console)) > (price of console) then the console is worth buying.
4. You listed 4 games: 4 * $60 is $240. $240 < $600 (remember we're talking launch price) so the PS3 isn't worth spending the money on.

And I know you might see a few holes so I'll explain those. I mentioned games that weren't released yet because for launches I allow some wiggle room in released games. If it's under two months and still part of launch window I don't mind including it. If you want to include things like downloadable games and budget titles, just do away with average game price and sum the actual price. Pretty simple formula.

and why is this formula good? Because when you spend money on something you don't want it to sit there and go to waste. The more money you spend, the more you want to decrease that risk. You don't have to buy every game on your list but you do want them to be games you want for whatever reason. That way if a game like say Lair or Red Steel sucked beyond belief you still have some choices to fall back on and you aren't stuck with an expensive system and a crappy game.

im still looking a single reason to buy a ps3... it could be killzone 2..

Gears Of War - better on PC - 2nd generation so nope not first year.

Rainbow Six - garbage

Carbon - worst NFS game made

Call Of Duty - COD2 is the worst COD of the franchise

Quake 4 - PC FTW!!

Saint's Row - GTA rip off

thats not a really grand year there. launch years are typically questionable. The Wii and PS3 arent a year old yet. (1 more week for the PS3 in japan 2 for US, Wii has 2 weeks too.) 

Wii - Mario Galaxy which is nearly as great as Mario 64, and Zelda: TP which was pretty good. And a bunch of other good extremely good sellers. You also have to include most VC games. 

PS3 - Resistance, Motorstorm, Heavenly Sword, Warhawk, flOw, Blast Factor, Folklore, Ratchet and Clank, COD3, Oblivian & GOTY edition.

To be fair, saying Gears is better on PC is a little misleading. Just because Gears is better on PC doesn't mean that Gears on the 360 is in any way bad. What you're saying is like saying the team that loses the Superbowl sucks. Also, waiting a year for the game isn't that fun either.

As for Dead Rising being too short, I have no idea where you're getting that from.

I'm not sure how you can attack the 360's lineup so hard while pushing the PS3's lineup with stuff like Heavenly Sword and Oblivion (which the 360 had a year before the PS3).

You're spinning things far too much to produce a useful post at this point.

graw, rainbox six and dead or alive 4? garbage? what kind of games do you like?.. Gears of war better on pc???--> i have to wait a whole year to play it.. cuz i had a futuristic view and then realized that it will be released on pc and it will be a better version.... do you know minimun requirements to play in a decent quality this kind of games on pc???..

I believe GRAW had an average of 8.5 from critics.

How are we talking about the PC version of Gears which came out a year after the 360 version anyway.

 Dead Rising was a great 25 hour game.

Rainbow Six has got to be one of the best First Person Shooters I have ever played and I believe the average rating on it was 9.5..........

Carbon was an incredible racing game with an average of 8.5 if I am correct.....

Call Of Duty 2 Now this comment of yours actually had me laughing, I believe everyone (and I mean EVERYONE) in the 360 gaming world agrees with me when they say that Call Of Duty 2 was the must have launch title, got game of the year, AND was ten times better than the horrible excuse for a game that was COD 3. O btw Call of Duty 2 was never on the PS3 (as you well know) they got the crap that is COD 3.

Quake 4 - How does PC have anything to do with the 360's launch games?

NFS MOst Wanted - Who cares about PC...........

Condemned - ya damn right I got you there

Dead Or Alive 4 has got to be one of the most beautiful and tight fighting games that I have ever played, reviewers agreed, I believe it had an average of 9...........

Saints Row - You could say Crash Bandicoot is a Mario ripoff, that doesnt make it any less of a great game. But your right it is a GTA rip off. 

Now lets go on to the games YOU mentioned for the PS3!

Resistance - good

 MOtorstorm - I'll wait for Gran Turismo, it doesnt excite me

Heavenly Sword - Did they take the exact same controls  from God Of War and just slap on some prettier graphics?

Warhawk - controls are crap - I believed it had an average rating of 7.........

Flow - never heard of it, is it a downloadable game?

Blastfactor - see my blurb on Flow

Folklore - it was ok, an RPG they may have wanted to have back at launch

Ratchet and Clank - Been there done that with three other ratchet and Clank games..........

Call Of Duty 3 - *giggles* what a BAD FPS!

Oblivion - I believe it came out on the 360 first and a whole year earlier! 

@ ssj12 dead rising short!?!? I have been playing that game a solid year, and still have not finnished to the true ending. to be fair i guess if you didnt try to kill the 54k zombies or go looking for strange things to kill people with it might have been shorter

Gears came out in the first year, also coop on that was fantastic, if only it had been longer ,about a month before 1 year aniversery

I may not have liked DOA 4 as much as 2 and 3 but definatly not garbage, still a fun game with friends

Rainbow six is the best first person tatical shooter out there, now if you had complained about the splinter cell that came out around the same time you could bash that

viva pinata is missing form that list also made it in before the end of year 1

saints row, demo seemed fun but never ponnied up the chash for it

GRAW not a bad game, but i did not enjoy it as much after the switch from just ghost recon
