This game is what sold me on the wii, and I have lost countless hours to it. The only reason I'm not still playing it is that WSR has the two sports that I could never get bored of in it (bowling and golf). I would give it 9/10

+ Good to get even the most anti-video game folk shouting and laughing
+ intuitive controls
+ Simple, user friendly package

- Not that fun after 3-6 months of consistent play.
- If I want to play a good local multiplayer game on the Wii, there are much better choices. (Mario Party 8, NSMBWii, Boom Blox 2).
- It did a great job selling people on the promise of the Wii (simple/fun controls and gameplay) but has little use for me in late 2009 with better games readily available.

For example I bought a Wii recently, and haven't even taken Wii Sports out of the box. I played it to death before I even owned my own Wii.

Like others i think you have to look at this game in a certain context

got the Wii (2007) Wii sports was like a breath of the fresh air, and it showed me what Wii is all about. It's good when i play by myself very calm and relaxing experience. But its Multiplayer that makes it amazing (game is simple enough so everyone can enjoy it)so thats why i would give it 9.5 back then.

Now after the release of Wii Sports Resort Game deserves around 8.5 , it still great but WSR offers better experience.

Its a good game for play with other people... but im a single player since i was born!
The ultimate version is Resort. I think Wii Sports its only a demo.

This is a hard one. I don't know if I should include its impact in the ranking or not.

Including impact its a 10/10, just viewing it by pure personal gaming experience its an 8/10 (taking 7 as an average =/)

Ahh heck, put me down as a 10/10. Its changed the gaming industry forever, I don't think that should be ignored.

I had a lot of fun with it, mainly on boxing, tennis and golf. Baseball and Bowling were fun too. But it's not nearly as deep and entertaining as its sequel. It was fantastic for a first forray into the unknown though.
