Again, I still think Princess of Scheherazade was a better game than the original Zelda games, and in more recent memory ICO, SOTC, Dark Cloud 1 and 2 are on par and in some instances better. Zelda has mainly tradition, right marketing and established fans. It's like if you tell me that LO on 360 was better than Valkyrie Profile 1 on PS1, I would laugh at you (well most my friends would join in the laughter lol). If SOTC and ICO series would have come out since NES days I am 100% sure that the fans would be divided in half, or when you look at all those games objectively. It's like, you can have a 45 min Mario game, but because it has the "Mario" title, it will be loved (as long as it has at LEAST decent gameplay of course). It's like trying to tell diehard Halo fans that there are many other FPS's on console and PC that are better than Halo.
It is surprising I guess that although I grew up with Atari 2600, NES, etc, I wasn't swayed nor limited to being exclusively on the Zelda bandwagon considering I did get to play the games when they came out.
Make games, not war (that goes for ridiculous fanboys)
