Forums - Sony Discussion - Anyone tempted to pick up M.A.G. based on Beta experience?

I know that's why I always face them, but it doesn't make it any less annoying.

I also use smoke grenades a lot to try and create cover. A combo of that and the poison gas would be useful lol.

I put a good number of hours into the BETA.

It requires 128 people working together to work like it should, thus it fails since the majority of online gamers are selfish.

Oh, and when three-quarters of players spawn sniper on an objective based game it kind of defeats the point.

Aside fromt hat the physics suck, environmental interaction is very poor and the graphics aren't great either, 256 player excuse or not.

My complaints as well. While I'd still rent it either way, I'm hoping that these issues have or will be ironed out before launch. I wouldn't expect graphics and animations to be like Killzone 2, but I think it needs improvement.

Amazing that you can get stuck on a couple inch step.

I see a lot of people backing out when faced against SVER too. One of the games the people who did it had mics and were like "Oh hell no!"

Raven wasn't doing too bad while I was playing today. I probably played around 5-6 games and Raven took two contracts for the sabotage mission and they weren't doing too bad on progress for the next contracts either.

I wish I had played the beta, but the vids from youtube look okay it wasn't really look like it was a must have kind of look.....

I did tried BF2, I didn't like it all that much.... anyways, I trust Zipper, they know how to make great games like Socom(and I think Socom Confrontation is a great game). the MAG beta was just a beta, it could get better when the full game comes out.

The hit boxes and the gun play are missed up and if you miss up those two things in a shooter you pretty much miss up the whole game.

Zipper made the first 3 socom's on PS2 and 3 of the PSP Socom's with the last one released in 2006. Everything after that [including Confrontation] was done by Slant6. Interesting note: SONY always owned the Socom IP and they acquired Zipper in 2006, after that and their last PSP game releases we heard nothing from them until some Poll on playstation.com about an MMO SOCOM. Then MAG was annonuced.

When SONY announced this acquired Zipper they made this statement:

SCE Worldwide Studios president, Phil Harrison, stated: "Zipper Interactive is one of the most well-known and respected development teams in the industry and we have enjoyed a great working relationship with the company since July 1999. Zipper's tremendous achievements and expertise in creating top-selling games with fantastically loyal online communities is a great addition to our development organization. We are delighted that Zipper Interactive is now a core member of the SCE Worldwide Studios network."

4 ≈ One

No. Then again, I'm not in the beta. Online shooters don't do it for me, so I will probably never get it.

They will have to fix SVER maps, because i don't see my self changing to anyother faction other then Raven.

Yea practically all of my time has been on the Sabotage mission. Domination hardly feels worth it until some changes are made.

It's difficult to get into it at first since you have the base equipment and it stinks. If you first upgrade the med-kit to heal others and then get the revive ability, you can get more points (+10 for a revive vs +5 for a kill) and be valuable to your team by reviving others and getting more experience to level up quicker.

I just upgraded to the third assault rifle and the stopping power feels much better and the upgraded sight and hand grip help out so much. A better ability to deal damage and playing in a number of games where people were communicating made MAG pretty darn fun today.
