Despite users spending extended time and money in Home, Sony isn't currently aiming to develop it as a marketplace.

During the London Games Conference last night, Pete Edwards, director of PlayStation Home, said that Home users are spending money on items through microtransactions in Sony's virtual world.

"It’s been a long road," he said. " We've proved there is a market out there and we’ve got a lot of people that spend a lot of time in [Home]. It’s not a priority right now but there is a business model there."

Edwards reported during the Develop conference in August this year that European users spend on average 56 minutes in Home per session.

Show us the real figures Sony...

Not a priority "right now." You can bet once they have a couple million more Home users after this holiday season they'll go all-out with the microtransactions.

they already have an independent team working on home, so even if they did not support it, that team will work on home more.

Home still rocks whatever people say.

They spammed us in 2006 with mails and presentations how great HOME was gonna be and how we could use it for marketing and making money with it... but then all the promises didn't came and everybody lost intrest in it in the ad/graphic design business.. that.. and the initial sales of the ps3 really ruled out HOME as a business..

We get it, you guys don't like home, can we leave it to the people who do? Or have at least used it for more than 5mins to create a valid opinion of it?
