I believe that when we get banned, we should be able to log on (of course we will lack the ability to post or use functions a member will have access to) and appeal to a moderator if they believe their ban was excessive or unjustified.

I also believe that there needs to be a major overhaul and reevaluation of the moderation system. The one thing I would like to emphasize is the importance of PRECEDENT.

Precedents are important because, let us say person A commits offense A (let B=posting shemale porn), and doesn't get permabanned.

If person B commits offense A, but gets permanently ban, we can only assume that bans are determined by favoritism and at the total decision of the moderator, not of the rules.

My point is that if people do not get punished for the same offense, to the same degree, then the "rules" are completely arbitrary, and in some cases, non-existent.

There needs to be more communication within the moderating team to make everything more uniform.

Well, there's a difference between a VGC God committing Offence A (whatever it may be) and a newbie with 0 posts doing the same. The God has been year for well over a year, so the moderation should be more lenient.

When I try to upload a new boxart or edit game information, the page just says "Loading - please wait" and never moves on. The information gets added, but I can't be sure until my profile is creditted with the $VG.

Chrome 4.0

Yeh I noticed this as well when I switched to Chrome. The thing to look for is the loader at the top of the tab, after you submit something look at the top of the tab where it shows the loader and you'll see it show up, once it goes away that means whatever you submitted is submitted.

But yeh it would be nice if this was fixed.

hmm, I get your point, but I think it would depend on the offence, for instance, say a God makes a series of racist remarks, I still think that would be worthy of a lengthy or permanant ban, another example would be posting obscene pornographic images, no matter who you are, you shouldnt be able to get away with that, minor infringments you have a good point on, majour ones, not so much, being an experienced posted should not entitle one to be a racist or to post obscene images.

Well, another point to consider is that the newbie hasn't really lost much, ordinary bans still mean they can make a new user ID and start over, hopefully smarter.

But someone losing a name they've built up in the community with 10,000 posts or whatever is much more serious. So although serious offenses must always be met with serious bans, maybe a month ban would be more appropriate for a long-time user who just goes off the deep end one day.

Unless, of course, that user turns into a circus coming into town once a month.

and if they are going use another sites pictures, host them on imageshack, photobucket, etc.

The "Most popular games" section looks like this in Chrome:

And the review section looks like this:

I'm just posting this while I still remember that they looked different in FF

Chrome 4.0 and up

Maybe i'm blind, but i can't find the option to delete my profile. Or is it just hidden behind another option i can't figure out?

Can we get an Ignore button for posters we don't like? Just under the "Add Friend" button on the side. It would probably help keep problems that mods have to deal with down. There posts just don't show up to the people who have them ignored.

It's not an option.

If you want a simple permaban, ask any moderator. If for whatever reason (Wessle?) your profile has to be deleted, only ioi or TalonMan can do it.
