:D
maybe we aren't really posting at all, so there are actually no users online?
it'll be fine in 24 hours *hopes*... You will all be happy when the site is faster (won't make much difference to me because my laptop isn't being too great recently)

So... what happened for the 2nd downtime? Very odd. Ahh well, great to see it back :)
BTW - "Full reply box" --> what you get when you hit the reply button, versus what you get for a quick RTF reply.
(always presumed it was a speed related issue, as you didn't want all the icons/code to load everytime someone viewed a post?)

ioi...when do you anticipate us getting past these growing pains? The site for me right now is almost as bad as before the server change happened. I have no doubt in my mind that once everything is fixed it will be like lightening; I'm just wondering if you have an idea how long until everything will be optimized. I'm not worried about menus or quote boxes...I'm just referring to initial load up and the speed in which the page refreshes.
Also...would it be difficult to implement an auto refresh on the front page? Maybe that would reduce the number of people that just keep hitting refresh every thirty seconds (like me...lol). I also think I remember hearing someone say something about putting tags on the threads to show recent activity (Like, if I've read the latest post). I think that would be a grand idea, especially on the front page, which is where I do all my reading.
The site seems to be alternating between blazingly fast, and not working at all. What could be causing this? It was really fast earlier this morning, but right when I went to digg the Q2 results from MS, the site went completely bonkers (before I submitted the digg, so it wasn't the digg effect).
Everything's fast and clean here.
LEFT4DEAD411.COM
Bet with disolitude: Left4Dead will have a higher Metacritic rating than Project Origin, 3 months after the second game's release. (hasn't been 3 months but it looks like I won :-p )
I couldnt get on the site for ages, now its pretty fast.
2008 end of year predictions:
