I love the fact that Sony try pulling Watchdog up over the 12,500 quote based on there own supplied information i.e. 1% of 2.5 million. Then refuse to supply the correct data claiming a risk to its competitive advantage. What risk?

Watchdog needs to get the Dust guy on its show.

Winner of the 2010 VGC Holiday sales prediction thread with an Average 1.6% accuracy rating. I am indeed awesome.

Kinect as seen by PS3 owners ...if you can pick at it   ...post it ... Did I mention the 360 was black and Shinny? Keeping Sigs obscure since 2007, Passed by the Sig police 5July10.

It was a stitch up by the BBC. Only people who are anti Sony would disagree.

Only a fanboy could make such absolute statements, see how silly that sounds when you generalise people for having a different opinion.  Adding the same thing twice into a thread in a deliberate attempt to troll users isn't particularly wise either, good job you're pro Sony or you'd probably get a ban otherwise.

A question to ponder
first of the .5 % failure rate they said .5% for the YLoD failure only.
Let me ask you this if you buy something and you know its out of warranty do you even bother trying to get it fixed under warranty. Probably just buy a new one and never report it. I have a friend who has a PS3 who claims he was denied warranty coverage because he was unable to locate his receipt so he just bought a new one.

as a sufferer of ylod and having to pay for a repair i think the bbc really screwed up an opportunity to hold sony to account with cheap and unecessary stunts thatmade them look foolish

^

In the UK I would say yes if I believed the item should of lasted longer even after a manufacturers warranty has lapsed.

You do not need a receipt but you will still need to provide some evidence of purchase.

I love how people are making the erroneous argument that because it is the beeb that BBC management can not screw up. They allowed a chap with a history of working for Sony's competition preform a hatchet job under the beeb banner. This is a clear case of the shows editor/management failing.

This guys screams conflict of interest.

"You have to feel sorry for everyone that plumped for the PS3 over the 360. Not the Sony die-hard that would buy a polished poo if it had the Sony logo on."

"Firstly, the 360 came out and is as close to perfect as you can get. Don’t get me wrong, I may be in the employ of Microsoft to write this column, but there is no way I’m taking dirty money.”

I hope Sony UK does take this to court, would wake beeb up that impartiality and reporting facts is not something that passively occurs.

Agreed.

I too hope Sony take this to court because lets face it if Sony win or lose they will always get bad PR
