Forums - Gaming Discussion - Do any of the Halo games deserve the popularity and critical acclaim?

I LOVED the first one when it came out. The second one sucked so much ass and the third one was just as bad.

Do you want japanese voices in FF13 and Versus 13? Write to these guys and tell them: support@square-enix-usa.com

Halo 2 & 3 weren't bad, just average.

Yes.
Looking back on things, halo 2 doesn't. But at the time it was revolutionary in terms of console online multiplayer.
Halo 1 is definitely AAA material. Epic campaign, and good online eventually(PC version)
Halo 2 had a letdown campaign, but it kept me hooked on the series. No memorable events from the game though.
Halo 3 was jam packed to the gills with content. Forge, theater, a billion multiplayer modes, off-online co-op, campaign, achievements implemented probably the best up to that point, bungie fileshare, and other little things.

And that's the only thing I need is *this*. I don't need this or this. Just this PS4... And this gaming PC. - The PS4 and the Gaming PC and that's all I need... And this Xbox 360. - The PS4, the Gaming PC, and the Xbox 360, and that's all I need... And these PS3's. - The PS4, and these PS3's, and the Gaming PC, and the Xbox 360... And this Nintendo DS. - The PS4, this Xbox 360, and the Gaming PC, and the PS3's, and that's all *I* need. And that's *all* I need too. I don't need one other thing, not one... I need this. - The Gaming PC and PS4, and Xbox 360, and thePS3's . Well what are you looking at? What do you think I'm some kind of a jerk or something! - And this. That's all I need.

Halo 3 had the worst campaign though.

Hell to the fuck no. I may have beat it in a day (over the span of a 12-hour playthrough.) in normal, but that doesn't mean it wasn't entertaining. It looked good, ran good, and played good. You can't say the same for the 8-hour shitfest that was Halo 2. Halo 3 had alot more variety.

The fact that you dislike it doesn't mean it didn't have those things. You just grew old of the game series. Hell, I grow old of mario, sonic, and zelda.

Simple, people would not play the games if they weren't good.
So obviously they deserve the praise.

They do because a lot of people enjoy them to this day. Enjoyment drives sales IMO!!!

Hell yes they do. Its by far mine and many other peoples favorite series for a reason. Campaign is good and the Multiplayer is top notch and regarded by many as the best in the genre.

Next time maybe you should post reasons why you dislike something before you post something like this

I mostly play RTS and Moba style games now adays as well as ALOT of benchmarking. I do play other games however such as the witcher 3 and Crysis 3, and recently Ashes of the Singularity. I love gaming on the cutting edge and refuse to accept any compromises. Proud member of the Glorious PC Gaming Master Race. Long Live SHIO!!!!

1M unique gamers play halo 3 online each day, 2 years after it's release.
so yes halo deserve it

halo is the past, present and future now B_E_L_I_E_V_E : )
