Right, I got that. What I'm saying is, in comparison, by trading in a Wii for a PS3, he's missing out on more exclusives, as a major amount of GOOD Wii games are exclusives or 1st party. I didn't say there were NO exclusives, I'm just saying that it doesn't balance out, and he'd just end up complaining he doesn't have a Wii down the road when more exclusives hit.

Thank you though for pointing that out instead of "duuuuh, you know how stupd that sounds??". Thus why I replied to your post, at least you made an actual point in your reply.

like everyone else who mentioned it - save up for it.

unlike everyone else who mentioned it - i understand that $300 is a lot of money for someone who actually has bills for two.

you don't need the slim on day one, so save up and hopefully by the time you can buy it all the games you wanted now will be platinum (or whatever sony calls it).

*sigh* it was nice when all the money i made/had was disposable income.

hey the wife...my wife wants to throw away my PS3 so-anyway about your wife tell her exactly like you told us- its gathering dust and will eventually not work why have extra furniture around the house- let's buy something we can use...hello

Well, if you don't play it, I'd sell it.  That simple--you can still get a decent value for it right now.  I sold my Wii a few months ago and haven't had any regrets...I just wasn't playing it much (maybe once a month)

The ps3 has really matured and gotten some really good games recently with more to come.  It's honestly a great value for $299.

But right, I guess he'll miss out on many exclusive for Wii, which is a shame though.
But it also comes down to personal preferences, which exclusives will he enjoy most?
In his post he claimed that he hasn't even touched the Wii, and it's quite a bit games he wanted for PS3, aswell as Blu-ray,

so I would say that you (mightymek) should do it, sell your Wii and get PS3, that's just my opinion.
But think about upcoming games you'll miss out on, and then decide if it's worth it.

Let's see:

- Your Wii hasn't been played in a year

- Your wife barely plays it as well

- You want to play Uncharted, Killzone, MGS4, Heavy Rain, LBP, Resistance, etc

- Your wife wants to play Heavy Rain

- Both of you will enjoy blu ray movies (on your HDTV I assume)

- You'll miss out on Mario games (Galaxy 2 and NSMB Wii)

 

It's a no brainer IMO, go for it and welcome to the dark side, and movies in glorious High Def.

I'd say pointing out the above things should work. 

If she's not playing it and you're not playing it then there's no point in having it.  Ditch your Wii and get something you'll actually play.

Theres many more games you like on ps3 then wii and no one who has a ps3 never plays it. i say keep it and get a ps3 its cheap enough now...but if u have to sell it then do it. seems like the wii games do not interest you. so theres no point in having the system.

PS3 and don't forget that PS3 is also getting the motion controller in 5 to 6 months with tonnes of casual games.


ditch the wii and get the PS3.


and don't forget motorstorm 2 and heavenly sword on top of the games you mentioned.

Sell the Wii and get a PS3 slim. From everything you said it’s the obvious choice.
