Unfortunately most people still use IE (I don't but the majority of people do) and the site needs to work on IE whether you personally like it or not, or we will alienate a LOT of people - which is never good.

Aye, the site has a lot of obnoxious ads. And you can't say browser compliancy isn't required. You NEED to work in IE/FF

Over the last 2-3 weeks, it really feels like they've gotten extremely bad.  First the top banner ads that cover them menu, then the in-between page ads (which sometimes don't even display an ad), and now the spring-up ads that do this.

I really don't like IE...I haven't used it in years. Mozilla Firefox owns (especially the new 3.5). Get Firefox...all your troubles will melt away. But on topic...maybe it's just your computer...it shouldn't happen..no matter what browser you are using.

I use Fire Fox and I get that ad sometimes. I just click on a topic and it goes away.

I love the community here but I feel like I'm being pushed away by all the ads, the jerkyness, and how the homepage is crammed with info.

@Thatmax: Are you paying to use the site? Do you lose anything with those ads being there? I'm guessing the answer is no. They have to make money somehow to keep the site running...and as we all know...life is getting expensive. The only way they can make money is to have ads....or they could just charge all the users a premium to use the site ad-free. Which one do you prefer? Free with ads...or you pay for no ads?

EDIT: I gotta say though...your avatar is hilarious. Bomberman really hates that random chicken. Classic Bomberman and his shenanigans.
