it's definitely one of the best looking racing games on the psp, but i don't think it will look better than Ridge Racer 2 which is the best looking racing game on psp to date. it's all due to sacrifices - there's no actual dynamic lightning and shadows on cars in GT Portable if you look at gameplay videos, those are just textures already on the car(compare those movies to gameplay of Ridge Racer 2 which have dynamic lightning and shadows on cars).

GT on psp looks impressive but if you played some racing games on psp there isn't definitely this OMFG thing cause it really doesn't look that better than some psp racing games already released - it's the content that looks impressive(though i hope there won't be 100 Skylines etc.).

Colin McRae Rally 2005 Plus and FlatOut: Head On are the two best racers I've seen on PSP in my opinion. Maybe I'm just a sucker for destructible vehicles though. XD

You're right. You compared it to a x360 game...

I like GT series but I'm not excited for GTPSP cos I don't like the idea of putting a racing sim on to the PSP. Graphics apart, the PSP has awful controls for racing games and unable to play it with a wheel is the biggest turn off.

I will still get it anyways.
