Great...so Miyamoto influenced Sony and MS with his motion controls invention.

How about he takes their influence on online play, mature games and console processing power next gen.

I don't think the man who is lauded as the greatest game designer of all time needs to start adding boobies to your  fantasy-angst games, just so that a few teens will think he's cool.

And online isn't the be-all-end-all of gaming. It's what you do when the core single player game isn't compelling enough to play it on it's own.

No one said anything about bouncing boobs. Hes been making the same brand of fantasy gaming for decades now. And while there is nothing wrong with it, it wouldn't hurt to accept an influence here or there form the industry.

Making a game where you are given a choice to save or kill princess Zelda would be splendid. Or you can marry her and have babies... Fable showed us its possible.

Also online play is key...http://kotaku.com/5278060/no-online-play-for-new-super-mario-bros

Coop in that game is useless now. When I have 4 people over we are watching a game or having a bbq. We are not playig the wii.

Silly mortal.  Miyamoto-san does not need anyone to influence him.  He should send ninjas to your house and kill you in your sleep for thinking such a thing.

Sony announces an accessory for a motion technology they introduced 7 years ago and they are copying Nintendo? Interesting.

i didnt realise they made the wands 7 years ago

sony copies everything man, last place consoles gotta get 'creative'

You think Xbox and 360 are creative?

I think that Microsoft is 'creative' or "creative".

This is different from being creative.

The creation, development and implementation of a new product, process or service, with the aim of improving efficiency, effectiveness or competitive advantage. Innovation may apply to products, services, manufacturing processes, managerial processes or the design of an organisation. ...

A Patent is not created nor implemented and doesn't prove development and so yea copied.

You think Xbox and 360 are creative?

dont get me wrong im a 3 system guy, but sony is number 3 on my list

Last year's game of the year turned out to be Silent Hill : Shattered Memories (online GOTY was COD 6).  This year's GOTY leader to me is Heavy Rain.

But yet, the Wii is just a fad...

Ask stefl1504 for a sig, even if you don't need one.

Yep I agree with Miyamoto. The Nintendo idea has won hands down.

Does flattered mean, "I told you so?"

Sometimes my vocabulary isn't that great.

I think the term flattered in this context means, "Our direction was the right direction all along!"

EDIT: @ prof - you gotta read between the lines sometimes!

Yeah..like in Timecop. Van Damme:"Read It" Punk:"Wolverine?" VD:"Between the lines" Punk:"I should get the %^&* out of here"

OH NO!!!PLEASE NO!!!...Miyamoto san, whatever you do!!! do not enter to this website and read this topic.

The thing is that this isn’t about Microsoft, if history is correct, this is about Sony. I would have to argue that a Microsoft motion controller was done only because a Sony motion controller would be done.

I mean even down to the Eye Toy replication, Nintendo doesn’t have an Eye toy.

I guess eliminating Microsoft from the mix, this is just exactly what Sony has been doing.

D-Pad standard, Analog, Rumble and Shoulder buttons; the only difference is that Nintendo wasn’t caught with its pants down this time around, because usually the Sony replicates are better than the function Nintendo pioneered – of course the Sony controller (if standard) could actually be better than the Wiimote +, I know a lot of non-gaming media in EU are loving it.

Add Microsoft to the mix and you have a red ocean for precision controls… But it depends, if Nintendo can get more than 70% of the software being released for Q3 to Q2 being M+ compatible and/or BB+ compatible then any effort made by Sony or Microsoft would unless done in at the same time in the image of Nintendo. (That’s all 1st party) Third party games haven’t proven yet to be able to sell Nintendo consoles the way that 1st party games do.

Funny thing though, is that people I’ve seen are simply confused by what they have seen of the Xbox controller and relate it to Minority Report. ^_^ Granted I believe surface was a closer fit. But if Nintendo can sell A LOT of Wii Motion+ based games for the next 2 quarters, then development for 1:1 controlled games by third parties will soon follow.

Finally though, looking at it from the development side, now there is no excuse for developers not to port down from the Wii to the PS360.
