Well Inifinty Ward will never make a COD game on the wii ever they said it before much like epic games, wont make a game for wii.

IW will do whatever Activision tells them to do.

I guess so since Activision is their boss after waw selling decent on the wii you think they'll re-condsider.

The fact that they dropped the "Call of Duty" brand basically confirms there will be no Wii version. Modern Warfare is a PS360 brand, not a Wii brand. Call of Duty is a Wii brand. Expect the next Call of Duty title to be on the Wii again.

And yes, assuming I'm right, this is extremely foolish of Activision. It's foolish to drop the best-selling Call of Duty name anyway.

What the...?  Brand?  The hell does that have to do with anything?   With that logic there should never have been RE5 on PS3/X360, DQIX on DS/DQ10 on Wii and the list goes on and on.

I've heard some intersting reasons why MW2 won't be on Wii but this one ranks as likely the most inane of them all.

Hey, thanks for that.

I'm not saying I'm 100% sure of this. Most publishers have their bullshit reasons to not put their games on the Wii. Capcom is a prime example of doing their best to find the most inane reasons not to put their games on the Wii. In this sense, it makes sense if Activision decides the Modern Warfare brand stays on PS360 as a special hardcore franchise, and the Call of Duty brand, which would be more mainstream, to put on the PS2 and Wii also.

I hope I'm wrong, I'd love another Call of Duty game on the Wii. But I think my thinking is pretty in line with how publishers think, which -to be fair- is in fact pretty inane in itself.

When are we finding out , E3?

I mean it's a easy million on the Wii and probably more.

The game is bound to sell over 12 million on two consoles (excluding PC). Does it need to?

That's a pretty stupid reason. Companies don't stop at a certain goal...they keep going further to make even more profits.

OT: The Wii version is over 1 mil, and the Wii made Activision the most revenue, so there's no reason why it wouldn't be on it.

No, its not. Why spend dev time, resources and effort on a Wii version when they can take the easy way out, Sell 12+ million (Leaving out the PC version, which would raise that considerably) and be known as the best selling console FPS ever next to COD4?

How is the second bolded part relevant? Maybe you could show us the games that gave Activision that revenue. I doubt WAW was a huge factor.

So you're relling me 1 million Wii games sold of WaW isn't worth it? That's some 25 million of publisher revenue right there. And they have the engine running on Wii, so it's not like it will take a lot of effort downscaling the textures. Besides Activision already said they want MW2 to be the best selling game ever, which is by all acounts easier with a Wii version. They don't want to take the easy way out, they want as much profit as they can. Your statement doesn't make sense at all.

The second part IS relevant, because it tells you that Wii is a big priority for Activision as it's their biggest console market.

Well there have been rumours of tensions between the studio and publisher over the "loaning out" of the CoD franchise, and as the employees could just quit and Activision don't want that, I doubt they would be happy if they were forced to make a Wii version, having given up the CoD name

Instead of arguing among each other why not blame Activision or IW for NOT saying whether or not there will be a Wii version.

I don't know about anyone else but it's REALLY annoying when devs don't state the platforms especially when the Wii is such a big question mark for multiplat games. And then when they do announce the Wii version they act like they are doing Wii fans some big f*cking favor when in reality a quality Wii version of these multiplat games should be a guarantee because of the massive install base that continues to grow each week!

Can you show me where exactly Infinity Ward said this?  I know a few guys there and they like Wii.   the only thing negative I've ever known them to note against the Wii was the fact they didn't have a good game engine to work with for CoD:MW hence why Wii didn't get the game.

SnowFlow, you have a point and I've asked a few publishers that same question with none give a straight answer.
