That's exactly why I like FFIX. I'm glad someone understands that what I liked was the oldschool style. It's not about the system, it's about the style of the game. Some people can't accept that there are those with different preferences about the FF series though, and they simply attribute my opinions to fanboyism.

I have played and finished:

FFI, FFII, FFIII, FFIV, FFV, FFVI, FFVII, FFVIII, FFIX, FFX, FFX-2, FFXII, FFT, FFTA, FF:CC, and FF: Chocobo Tales. I am not even a big FF fan (anymore), I'm just a JRPG junkie lol. Personally, my 3 favorite RPG series currently are Pokemon, DQ, and KH.

I agree btw with kber that the game will probably sell 2.5-3 million worldwide.

 What I loved about FFIX was that every character felt very different and they didn't kinda 'overlap'. Take FFX for example; except for Yuna, every other character could learn the same magic, skills, attacks etc. I generally love playing with unique characters in my games.

Hold on a second there, Sephiroth may be one of the top villians in videogame history, but no need to dis Kefka. That tiny green sprite and his silly, digital laughter are permanently carved into the minds of many gamers. Simply put, Kefka rules.  

As much as I like leo-j ( no , not in the gay way :P ) I have to admit , the idea that CC: FFVII will hit 10 million is well ... you know a bit optimistik . I expect CC to pass the 2 million in Japan alone . This is not GTA , this is CC . This game , just the announcement in 04 led millions to buy there PSPs . I expect the worldwide sales to pass the GTA : LCS sales . The max sales , even in best case cenario will be 6 million ... tops . And that is if it will become the PSPs leading game and take over the title from LCS .

But I guess its not a big deal going with a objector for two weeks .. right ?

If this game will bomb , than Il get my PSP , wait for CoO , play it , burn my PSP and then commit suicide . Common , if this game wont be able to push the PSP to the real selling levels , than nothing can . I cant imagine no other gaming power to be able to even from far compete with the name of CC on the PSP ... maybe if MS will release Halo for it ... that could help :P

Anyways , lets hope for the best , and Im going as far as making a PSP lifetime prediction at the end of October :)

The problem with your prediction hunter_alien is... it's not GTA lol. The game will do better in Japan than GTA but much worse in America and MUCH MUCH worse in Europe. This is an RPG spinoff... I think it will be lucky to do MH levels.

I totally agree. If this game bomb there is no future for PSP as a gaming machine. Aside GTA this is the biggest title destinated for PSP ever. In my opinion GoW: CoO is nowhere close to greatness of this game.

Actually I expect CC to sell more than GTA even in the US and especially in the EU . FFVII is a game that will remain in the history just like SMB , Halo or Starcraft . The fact that it could get its first fantastick spinoff tingles every older gamers senses , and all the new ,, hardcore gamers " will stay with the flow and buy the game to ... because you know , they are huge fans of the serie . I admit , Im not a huge FF fan , and the only reason Il buy CC is because its on the PSP , and I find its battle system finally perfect for my taste :)

I bet that MHF3 , if it will happen , will do much batter than CC , but I also expect that CC will sell 2 million in Jap and 1.5/1.5 in the EU and US . It always did batter in Japan . I dont expect the first week sales to be even far as great as the ones for MHF2 , but I do expect for it much longer legs :) ( observ my peacemaking smileyes :P ) .
