Uncharted looked better than Gears.

Uncharted 2 will look way better than Gears 2.

you guys are comparing oranges and apples. The two engines look very different

I like how we have screenshots (in which you can click the pic and get a higher resolution), and all the Xbox fans are bitching (in comparison to Uncharted).

If this game was compared to like....Heavenly Sword, they'd be praising: "look how good those textures and character models are"

Uncharted is still the best looking game of this generation on consoles. It may not be the best from a tech standpoint (that goes to Killzone 2), but from a pure astetic point, Uncharted blows everything else out of the water. No other game has touched Uncharteds animations, textures polygon count, or AA.

IMO this is an unfair battle. Uncharted may have a competitor in Gears 3, but niether Gears 1 or 2 have a chance against it graphically.

Then lets not even get started with Heavy Rain vs Alan Wake at this time.

Dont get me wroung Gears 2 has got good graphics but i agree it's been blown ot of perspective; just ridiculously overrated

But wow, Uncharted holds up real good against the almighty Gears 2 machine. I'm actually impressed. o_O

I think that Uncharted would be the girl I would want to bang cuz she is hot....Gears is the girl I would bang even if my friend said he banged her....

And Uncharted was proly in dev for much longer..and ND ended up redoing alot of stuff and what not While Epic used it as an Unreal 3 tech demo....I've noticed that Gears has some sort of thing where the objects on screen load at different times and you get Blurring and other stuff(Not the SP Campaign)

So the Grpahics go to Uncharted...I have played the forst hour of Uncharted it's good...But there is alot of 2d stuff in the back ground cleverly used...still....Uncharted has an edge....Or more so ND has an edge over Epic...

I don't doubt those shots are from Gears 2, what I do question is that when the game is displayed at a normal level in front of my very eyes on my TV I see no disparity between the two in terms of visual fidelity.  If you game with your face 1 foot away from your TV to see any issues then that's your problem.

Also the actual author who did this analysis seems to not understand why he gets blurred ouput on his capture device occasionally.  I think for anyone wanting to do serious captures and comparison they should understand the limitations of the hardware they're using.  I'm willing to bet they're some sort of interlacing/deinterlacing fault produced by his input method and scaling settings on his 360.  If he cannot even configure his setup to capture properly then I'm not putting much strength in the evidence he has provided.  I liked the end comment quite blatantly put there in a vain effort to stop people suspecting him of being biased.

got butthurt because the "almight" gears 2 has worst textures than uncharted?

stop speculating about the material used to capture the images,like i said everybody who has the 2 games can do a quick comparison,people will believe in what they want this discussion is pointless

i prefer uncharted by far. but uncharted explosions look like crap. i hope they fix that for uncharted 2.
