I love Dead Space and I'm happy that they will do a sequel. I kind of expected a sequel, based off the ending for DS, they left it way to open ended IMO.

Perhaps but I am not seeing EA the same way. I remain unimpressed as far their Wii support goes. Dead Space reallyisn't a series for me and it is unfortunate for this thread that it comes after EA promised more support for the Wii and then announce a Wii version of a Core Series that is just another Rail shooter. To me it does not spell out true support from EA.
However as I said before fans of the series who have played the game already own a PS3/360/PC so they can actually enjoy the Sequel.

Make a cheap spin off on the Wii that will bring enough money to make Dead Space 2? Tell me what have they learned?

I guess Dead Space didn't do as badly as you think.
@outlawauron: I didn't mean that, although it is true that EA didn't (and doesn't) seem too excited about Dead Space's sales.
My point is, why not putting this game on the Wii as well? I played the 360 demo and saw trailers and video reviews of the game, and frankly didn't see anything that can't be done on the Wii, with a slight graphical downgrade...

Heh, I think it would take a whole lot of work for them to do a port. And it is. In order to make the graphics for the Wii version slightly comparably to the HD counterparts, they had to make it on rails.
If it were an TPS, then I'd say it would look a whole lot worse than the Dead Space Wii looks now.
And I think the reason for the lack of a Wii port has to do with that the devs don't know how to do a Wii version. They finished Dead Space and now they're working on Dante's Inferno and Dead Space 2. Another studio is handling the Wii port and they'd be the ones to port the second one as well.
great i can't wait. dead space was one the best games released in '08. hopefully they dont just ship trash for an easy cash in and actually make the sequel as good as the first.
Um, he actually did not declare that they are indeed developing the game. He only stated that the game is in the works i.e. planning stage. The game may actually be turned down by EA and not get the green lite for development.
If Nintendo is successful at the moment, it’s because they are good, and I cannot blame them for that. What we should do is try to be just as good.----Laurent Benadiba
