Forums - Gaming Discussion - So there are 1st & 3rd Person shooter. What about a 2nd person shooter ?

Zelda Phantom Hourglass has a boss fight that is partly in the second person view, on one of the screens you see what the boss sees. Very confusing :)

Resident Evil 4 is in a second person view.

Ei Kiinasti.

Eikä Japanisti.

Vaan pannaan jalalla koreasti.

Nintendo games sell only on Nintendo system.

I still remember the 1st time i got to see a 2nd person view, the 1st boss of Battletoads...

The 2nd person view can be used, but for counted situations, an entire 2nd person shooter would be weird, every time you kill someone, the view has to change to the next enemy, and what happens if the next one is in an angle that he can't see you, you wouldn't know how to control to get there... It's tricky...

For a fighting game is easier, the antagonist is in front of you almost every time, and the minute he goes down the round ends... Or in sports like tennis, boxing, etc...

I remember occasional 2nd person view in MGS3 while fighting the sniper boss.

I see

so killzone 2 is a 1st person shooter because you look what the player looks. and uncharted is 3rd person shooter because you can see the player himself.
still not sure about about 2nd person shooter. but got some info that may help.

thanks guys!

BTW, Fallout 3 is a mixture between 1st & 3rd shooter, right ?

Uhm no Fallout 3 is a RPG with 1st and 3rd person elements.

fist person you see the weapon and the fingers

tird person you see the charecter

second person you see the back and shoulders

resistance retribution is in 2nd person

I thought the second person boss fight in Phantom Hourglass was fantastic, actually, but for the sake of orientation it's one of those things that can really one be done on the DS.

I'm not really sure how you could have a second person game. as others have described, it's not really feasible.
