Because of the internet hate for the game. Also the internet love for Chrono Trigger made me play it and I thought it was terribly average.

I would want to say E.V.O. (Snes) or Little Nemo the Dream Master (Nes) but that's just b/c nobody seems to know a thing about those games, and both are awesome. But i don't know if they were popular in their time... so, i don't know if they qualify for this.

Crystalis

Was a billion times better than the NES Zelda's yet almost no one played it.

More polished great story better visuals and gameplay.

(I so want to say Shenmue but it gets just enough recognition on many lists but crystalis it's like no one ever heard of it and ignores me when I say the name..so I say go play it and prove me wrong)

I agree with Smoked on this one. Chrono Trigger just wasn't my cup of tea. I actually preferred Chrono Cross, suprising I know.
