Forums - Gaming Discussion - Alright, Already. I know What You Hate. Now Tell Me What You Love

Things have gotten a little contentious today with everybody hating on everybody else's toy. Obviously we don't all see eye to eye on that one. But the fact that we are all here at all means there must be some kind of video gaming we do love.

I'd like to hear you tell us what turns you on, not pisses you off. The idea is simple. Write an early Valentine to the gadget and/or game you love. Try to be creative and if possible humorous. Tell us about your passions, not its technical prowess. And above all, no knocking the competition; don't even mention them.

I'll kick it off with a little poetic license that I posted in a thread a few days ago that most of you didn't see.

I heart Super Mario Galaxy...

I have said it before and I'll say it again. I love your sig.

I love waffels.

I love Mario platformers, anything from Tim Schafer of Team ICO, and Bioware.

Twinkle twinkle little HDD light, how I wonder what you're doing.
Up above the console gamers so high, like a diamond in the sky.
Twinkle twinkle little HDD light, how I wonder what you're doing!

Or another completely different change of direction.

I love!:

  • When I can play a game time and again and add it to my all time favourites list to remember for all time.
  • When a game exceeds its sales expectations and a round of applause is deserved for all the developers who worked hard to make it.
  • When a new person takes up gaming and experiences the same joy I did in the early days when I played.
  • When a new console is released, trying to figure out how the architecture ticks, good choices vs bad etc.

Tease.

I love torrents and newsgroups
they give me free porn
or I'd be confused and filled with rage
just like Jason Bourne

I love wireless stuff
cause I hate wires
wires keep giving me guff
making me want to start fires

I love you oh giant TV
you cost me lots of skrilla
but your 52"
lets me watch life sized Godzilla

I love you XBOX and Wii
not so much PS3
I cut down a tree
and it fell on my dick

Getting an XBOX One for me is like being in a bad relationship but staying together because we have kids. XBone we have 20000+ achievement points, 2+ years of XBL Gold and 20000+ MS points. I think its best we stay together if only for the MS points.

Nintendo Treehouse is what happens when a publisher is confident and proud of its games and doesn't need to show CGI lies for five minutes.

Catchy!

Here's mine:

Once upon a midnight rainy, I played a game, hard and brainy,

Over many a quaint and curious puzzle of arcane game lore,

While I pondered, nearly cursing, for the solution I was thirsting,

As how to advance in this game, how to get inside this door.

"Tis most frustrating," I muttered, "how to get inside this door -

              Only this, and nothing more."

I'm a crappy poet.
