I think it is successful though the victim of wild hype. I want it to succeed because the PS3 is too nice a console to be used only for violent mature games. While LBP is not a children's game, it could certainly be a family game.

As long as the HD console are perceived as strictly hardcore, violent, and mature themed, their sales will be limited to a n important demographic but not a large enough one. And yes I know that there are games on the XB360 or the PS3 suitable for causual or younger gamers but that's not the perception because until LBP, none of them got the kind of promotion that would raise public awareness.

 I vaguely recall someone saying that. It was from the same people saying the game would sell 10-12 million though so I can't say for sure it was serious. There were 3-4 members who really went over the top with their predictions.

 I'll see if I can dig it up. As far as I can tell it was posted like once or twice tops so it wouldn't be anything most people would know about, and hardly worth mentioning quite honestly. It is a decent example of why there is so much hatred for LBP on the forums though. If it is in the thread I think it is there will be a ton of examples of over-hype for the game so it might be worth finding.
