It doesn't seem entirely unreasonable as they need to outsell M$ this holiday season and with the current lineup that M$ has for the fall, sony is going to need some big titles to help push the PS3.....and maybe a price drop on the 40GB systems.

Gamepro teased a 'Colossal' announcement for this coming issue. Everyone assumes it is the ICO game, but maybe it is GoW3.

 This is exactly the reason why this is no way true.  They would not take one of their big franchises and keep it hidden in the dark for so long.  And then finally be like "hey GOW3 coming out in 2 months"

A console not in the lead and is trying to get more control over market needs to announce games as soon as basically developement starts in order to try and attract gamers with the games.

First Nirvana seems to forget the actually massive line up of exclusives for the PS3 this fall, if any console needs to play catch up its the 360.

Second, if this is true, then them announcing the title only a couple months before hand would actually in my opinion create more hype then an series of commercials. Though to base all this off a single throw away in a single magazine is a bit much.

 



I own all three current consoles and a great gaming rig, now thats out of the way.

Telling by the games history it will be released on March of 09.

guys this will not be released even in march 09,,,it will be later in the year (09).in 09 KZ2 comes out on February 28,resident evil comes out on march 16.I don't think it would be wise decision to put another big game(god of war) in such close time frame.

I'm sorry, I can't let this go unsaid. This is quite possibly the best post I've seen in ages. OT: Is Famitsu known for getting good scoops, or are they generally incorrect? If they're right, this could mean big things for my PS3 this holiday season. And smaller X-mas gifts for at least two suckers.

Not gonna happen.

It along with Uncharted 2 and Ratchet & Clank Future: Sexual Euphemism #27 will be the big holiday releases next year.

To the guys saying March, that would mean the game was only in development for two years, the same amount of time as God of War II. Given the transition from ps2 to ps3 development, that's VERY unlikely.

While I doubt it....I totally expect Sony to surprise at some point with a major release....be it GOWIII in December, or GT5 early next year...I think they are going to do something like this.

GOWIII (with a marketing campaign fitting it, and LBP, and R2..SONY!! Hello, advertise!) at Xmas would be huge...
