This is sheer awesomeness. I refrained from putting Native shows on my list though, but did Germany also had runs of Alfred Jodokus Kwak?

Why refrain from putting native shows on your list? Show some pride!

Wickie was my favorite childhood show and I still love it. I think more than 30 years later it's still the most popular cartoon show in Germany. It's rerun every year (and now they're even making a live action movie, oh well...)

And yes, Herman van Veen's Alfred J. Kwak was on German television (it was a Dutch/German/Japanese co-production). This cute cartoon show was very popular over here. I loved the voice of the little duck (the voiceover was done by the same woman in the German and Dutch versions, as far as I know).

I have lots of old cartoons that could easily be rated amongst these, but I always make a clear distinction between "real-life" shows and cartoons because they are a completely different medium. The fact that it's "native" (in European sense) didn't had so much to do with it, rather then the reason stated before. Avatar is my exception though, as the story makes it an easy contender on par with Heroes. A top ten cartoonshows for me would roughly be, in no order:

Alfred J. Kwak

Wicky the Viking.

Lucky Luke

Batman TAS.

David de kabouter/David the gnome

Nils Holgerson

Anything Animaniacs (Animaniacs, Freakazoid, Pinky and the Brain)

Boes

Pokemon

Danny Phantom

Yeah, Malcolm in the Middle is a decent show. Too bad they stretched the formula so thinly.

Hmm, I thought Celebrity Deathmatch featured "real people." Either way, Robot Chicken is a great show when you know the references. Samurai Jack...well...I could never get into that.
