More proof that PS3 will fall to the 360 and never even put a small chink in the Wii's armor.

Yep I was talking world wide. But quarter 3 so most of the boost from MGS4 would be last quarters' news anyway.

I just took into account simple things like the refresh thats going to be bigger than the Falcon one in terms of cost savings, because A the GPU + heatsink are big and expensive and B they have to set aside FAR less money for repair and C they are shrinking every chip inside the machine at the same time. So a price cut would make sense really, the market seems to be saturating at that price level and the economic situation in the states is actually helping the Xbox360 as consumers are much more price concious now than the were 6 months ago.

Furthermore console sales are low, especially for the HD consoles in the states... All it takes is for one of the consoles to take off and leave the other behind because worldwide they are closer now than they ever were at any point in this year. Im just picking that it will be the Xbox to pick up in sales with a price cut.

If they Wii didn't exist they wouldn't be that bad. 2 things.

The 360 outsold the PS3, which is something that Sony fans hoped was over for good in all regions.

PS3 will have a huge sales week with MGS 4 launch week. MGS 4 PS3 bundles will help push sales.

Metal Gear Solid will push sales of the PS3, but how high and for how long is really questionable ...

One thing that could happen that wouldn't surprise me that much would be to see the PS3 have lower sales than this 3 to 6 weeks from now (after Metal Gear Solid 4 has had the bulk of its impact) because there are no really big games on the horizon for the PS3; I could be wrong, but I suspect that the almost all good games announced for the PS3 at E3 will have a 2009 release date.

Wii failed, god those numbers sucked, it needs to be at least Wii > (2*PS)+(2*Xbox360) in order to gain any credability from me, it's such a fad - I mean look at it's numbers dwindle - Nintendo knows the sh** just hit the fan.

Yea it did get thwomped hard, I thought the firmware announcement of the 40gig BC would of turned things on the up and up - at least Sony saw this coming, I bet their expecting big numbars MGS - or they did it intentionally to get Wii like numbers when MGS4 comes out.

Remember that the Wii 700k might of been from Christmas backlog and not Mario Kart Wii.

Side Note -

I've been thinking about that quote of "people only buy Wii for nintendo games..."

I applied that to PS3 and came to the same conclusion, "people only bought PS3 for MGS, FF, GoW and other exclusive titles." I still think both are wrong though.
