And how the hell does covering the skull with a piece of cloth de-magnetize it? I expect this sort of shit from George Lucas and David Koepp, but from Spielberg it's disappointing.

Duh, if they had to deal with the magnet problem the entire time then they would have had to go into some effort explaining it and having to make everything metal thing in the move be attracted.

Well I don't think it ever demagnetized it, it just kept its other...mystical powers covered...because the alien attracted all those bullets (also unbelievable) while covered in the box...

LEFT4DEAD411.COM
Bet with disolitude: Left4Dead will have a higher Metacritic rating than Project Origin, 3 months after the second game's release.  (hasn't been 3 months but it looks like I won :-p )

Yeah, the whole magnetism thing was pretty stupid to begin with but the fact they were so inconsistent with it and they never bothered explaining it in any way other than mentioning it attracts gold too made it even worse.

Going to watch the movie in the cinema tomorrow. I hope it will be as good as the first 3 Indiana Jones movies

Well techincally the refrigirator could have saved him. There was a small scene just so we could see the "made out of lead" sign. In theory lead is the most effective thing that can shield you from a nuclear blast and radioactive contamination. Sure that it was pretty far fetched but then again, what about Indianas miraculous saves from poisened darts, gun shots, arrows in the previous installments.

In general the whole Alien thing perfectly fits with everything that has been shown in the series. Aliens are no more stupid than the holy grail, lost arc of the jews or a Indian man pulling someones heart out while not taking the mans life at the same time. If we take this into account, we don't really have anything bad to say.

The only thing that made me somewhat mad was Mutt turning out to be Henry Jones 3rd. What a spectacular way to open up future sequals.

Personally i think that this part was quite good. The Indiana Jones series never treated itself too seriously and therefore i can't say that they overhauled with the idea or action seens (vine swinging included since it is possible to swing in such a manner, you just need to find a place with such vines). All in all a quite nice end to the series.

Fearing

Doubting.

I haven't seen it yet, but this thread saddens me. :(

I could handle the fridge scene IF it had just fallen over and maybe just got pushed across the house but no, it got flung REALLY high in the air and MILES off.  That's just stupid.

What they should have done is just have him frantically look for some kind of fallout shelter and get in there (with some kind of trouble).

Also, why did they even have that whole sequence other than to have some big budget special effects.

I don't have a real big problem with aliens, I just have a problem with how they pulled it off.  You can't tell me you actually liked everything they did with the aliend.

They're in the space between space!

Yeah, there really was no reason to have that and the Raiders chick in there.  They could have just said his mother died and that would have worked out perfectly fine.

I get that the Indy series has never taken itself too seriously, but even with how over the top they were there was still something to keep it tethered to the ground and make it not seem so bad.  This movie didn't have any of that.

The movie sucked. My son almost fell asleep- I had to nudge him.
Harrison Ford looked too old. His old flame looked old, and apparently forgot how to act. The story was foolish and the action scenes are too unbelievable - it doesn't make sense at all.
There was no chemistry between the actors.
I was totally disappointed.
I rate this one lower than Prince Caspian.

I thought it was pretty good :)
But yeah Harrison is too old....kinda ruined it a bit.

I'd rate it the third best in the series.
