Well techincally the refrigirator could have saved him. There was a small scene just so we could see the "made out of lead" sign. In theory lead is the most effective thing that can shield you from a nuclear blast and radioactive contamination. Sure that it was pretty far fetched but then again, what about Indianas miraculous saves from poisened darts, gun shots, arrows in the previous installments.

I could handle the fridge scene IF it had just fallen over and maybe just got pushed across the house but no, it got flung REALLY high in the air and MILES off.  That's just stupid.

What they should have done is just have him frantically look for some kind of fallout shelter and get in there (with some kind of trouble).

Also, why did they even have that whole sequence other than to have some big budget special effects.

In general the whole Alien thing perfectly fits with everything that has been shown in the series. Aliens are no more stupid than the holy grail, lost arc of the jews or a Indian man pulling someones heart out while not taking the mans life at the same time. If we take this into account, we don't really have anything bad to say.

I don't have a real big problem with aliens, I just have a problem with how they pulled it off.  You can't tell me you actually liked everything they did with the aliend.

They're in the space between space!

The only thing that made me somewhat mad was Mutt turning out to be Henry Jones 3rd. What a spectacular way to open up future sequals.

Yeah, there really was no reason to have that and the Raiders chick in there.  They could have just said his mother died and that would have worked out perfectly fine.

Personally i think that this part was quite good. The Indiana Jones series never treated itself too seriously and therefore i can't say that they overhauled with the idea or action seens (vine swinging included since it is possible to swing in such a manner, you just need to find a place with such vines). All in all a quite nice end to the series.

I get that the Indy series has never taken itself too seriously, but even with how over the top they were there was still something to keep it tethered to the ground and make it not seem so bad.  This movie didn't have any of that.
