Well, at least 100k will have to be sold at one point.

I do think that the PS3 will see a huge boost in hardware sales in Japan during the launch of MGS4 . 100k is a bit much but 60k sold from that 100k in first week is possible IMO :)

100 000 k in one week? i think its possible, i think there are alot of "sleepers" in japan just waiting to buy the ps3 for this game.

I think the PS3 demand has fallen so much because BC was really important there and once there werent anymore 60Gb or 20Gb units the numbers did take a big hit.

THe 80Gb pf the bundle ,though ,is retrocompatible ,so I expect it to sellout in 1-2 weeks.

This site is becoming more and more of a Nintendo fanboy hang out. But I blame this trend on the bias of ioi and some of the mods.. they clearly root for Nintendo's success at the cost of Sony...

Id tsay these 100k PS3's will last 2 to 3 weeks ...
40k PS3 sales in Japan for 3 weeks then falling to 15k per week for 2 months before return to normal 10 - 12k levels ...

Cool, I hope this game does well. I seem to have been converted, I went from hating it, to getting it first week. Wierd how things change. In any case no matter how much I want the X360 to stay on top of the PS3 - For purely self interested PC fanboy reasons. I do want this kind of game to succeed. I don't like the thought of a weak graphics system completely dominating this gen. Current levels o.k. but NO MORE!! :)

@above why are there so many bannings lately, I presume they both got banned for this thread?

If this model has BC, then it is going to go fast in Japan, as they have not had an option to buy BC in awhile, I think it would sell out fast for that if not for the MGS4.
