I’m going to say something that is now fact and not fiction...something that if I said it I would have been dismissed as a pipe dream:

In February 2020, Xbox how has more 1st party studios then Sony.

Xbox had more studios before the generation started.  They shut down like 6 of them.

But...don't they both have 14?

MS has 15.

Sony has 14 that we know of.

What if you counted all the employes at all the studios?

Who employs the bigger work force, to make games between the two?

*jokeing btw, not serious. End of the day, all that matters is you get quality exclusives on either side of the fence.

Studio closure is never a good new, but this one doesn't seem like it will impact Sony or PS5 in any negative way.

You know desperation is real when conversation has watered down to how many studios each company has, and not the quality of the games produced.

Even more bizarre when you see someone use a publishing arm for one company to help prop up 'studio' numbers but don't for the other.

At the end of the day, studio numbers mean nothing unless said studios can actually deliver quality and quantity. Studio growth and expansion is also a real thing

I made a observation and people responded. You say “desperate”, funny considering if people weren’t compelled to respond then my comment would have been buried. So don’t call PS fans desperate plz and thx, Vgchartz  is a progressive forum :) Sorry I don’t have a time machine to show you the metacritic scores of all Xbox’s Ips in 2020 lol

I was willing to concede the publisher arm and say it’s even. Then again to the direct consumer a Xbox IP is a game all the same, but I digress. I saw the thread title that Sony has 14 and I guess I made the wrong assumption that the number included all they have.

Quality goes without saying. Properly managed, all studios can make quality games. But if you have so few your games will be too spaced out.  I think on some level, the really loyal PS guys here, are a bit insulted that the king of exclusives Sony has the same number of studios as the Halo/Gears/Forza console. It’s a sign of things to come :)

Xbox: Best hardware, Game Pass best value, best BC, more 1st party genres and multiplayer titles.

Yes they are insulted and terrified about the possibility of Crackdown 4 being a better game than God of War 5.

More crackdown you say? Well time to get an Xbox.

To be fair that was a published game, which someone pointed out isn’t an official developer under Xbox :)

Ok, so Fable 4 will dance around FFVIIR or HZD2 we are shivering.

Isn’t FF7 a timed exclusive? Regardless the first step is matching their capabilities. With the exclusives gap this gen, this is a milestone in itself, that’s all I am saying

Now this is preference, but the only Horizon worth a damn this gen is Forza Horizon 4 ;)

Londenstudio is probably the next studio they will close, my estimates within 18 months.

Please excuse my (probally) poor grammar

Having same number of studios is nowhere the same as matching their capabilities, not even in the number of developers, much less on the experience and quality of the team.
