Major just said that quick resume works even with system updates.

Of course it would. I believe it stores snapshot of RAM to SSD. And then you can load it any time. Just like with retro emulators on PC.

Halo > Forza > Gears > Fable > AoE

Halo for me but I love all of them and would rank all at 2 behind Halo.

But I need a break from Gears. Would love them to work on another game now and have the next Gears only in 5 years or so.

The biggest frustration I have with the Xbox One UI/OS is how god damn long it takes for the console to load 1,000~ titles into the "my games category".

Having to rebuild my games database every time I turn the machine on is pretty unnecessary and a waste of my time, I would rather there was a "check" every time you tried to launch a game, rather than every time I turn the system on.

Games with Gold is pretty mediocre this month, missed opportunity by not throwing Ori and the Blind Forest as a title in my opinion, is what it is though.

Sounds like you don't use the Instant-On feature.

Certainly don't.
It's a waste of electricity, I can be away for weeks at a time for rescue deployments, so everything gets switched off at the wall.

And the console was prone to redownloading entire games, rather than just patch data, plus there was the odd glitch here and there where games wouldn't boot requiring a hard reset anyway.

Doesn't mean that it needs to rebuild the game database every time the console gets switched on though.

Man, Ori looks so fucking good. Can't wait.

Definitely one of the shining points of the Xbox One games library this generation, that's for sure.

--::{PC Gaming Master Race}::--

Finished Indivisible.

Took me 14 hours to beat (1000G). The game is pretty good but there are a few things that keep it from being a truly awesome game.

Combat is too easy. Difficulty was alright at the beginning but after the first boss there's basically no enemy that can kill you, even if you don't upgrade your defense and attack. On the plus side there are so many characters to unlock, so you could theoretically change up your party quite often, but since the combat is so easy there's no need to. I just chose the characters with the highest strength and killed most enemies pretty quickly (even if some act like sponges) while having one healer. They should've included sequences where not all team members are available and you're forced to play with some other guys.

There's too much backtracking in the game. While this is not uncommon for Metroidvania-like games, you have to pretty much play through a whole region again only to get back to the part which you previously couldn't access. The few fast travel points (which you begin to unlock during the middle part of the game) don't really help much.

On the plus side, the platforming can be pretty challenging as there are tons of abilities that will unlock as part of the main story which can make platforming quite complex. Visuals are top notch. Many voiced lines, some anime scenes, simply feels like an indie game with a high budget. Length is alright as well. There are a few more side quests which can unlock even more characters to play with. Story is enjoyable too.

8/10.

Well I can understand why it would be a waste of electricity in your case.

I'm powering my Xbox several times a day. Watching the boot process every single time would drive me nuts. And then there are the giant updates which can take longer than a regular play session.

I was recently installing a game on my old Xbox One (which is set to energy saving mode) so I can double box boost it. Then realized that I can't turn it off since it wouldn't continue downloading. I could change the setting but I would need to undo that again later... and again every time after that.
End of story, I left it on just to download the game Now that felt like a waste of energy.

In light of this, we plan to move our presence to a digital-only event March 16-18th held on www.microsoft.com/gamestack. This event will feature the majority of our planned game developer sessions and experiences, which will be streamed live and available on demand.

Microsoft is pulling out of GDC and replacing it with a digital event, GDC is looking likely to be cancelled at this rate.

They still plan to give us any news that would have happened. Since none of us could physically be there I can honestly care less

There are also other features coming to the service that have not yet been released, such as streaming PC games using xCloud. While the details are still a bit thin, people familiar with the company’s plans state that it looks like the next step for xCloud will offer a solution similar to that of what Nvidia recently launched, GeForce Now. We have seen a similar feature where you can stream games from your Xbox console to another device, PC gamers will soon be able to do the same.

E3 can’t come soon enough

Where TF is Battletoads? 25 people working on it, I'm starting to believe that the art-style change theory could be true, a lot of respect to them if they do change it in response to feedback cause it would have to be a huge overhaul, I just don't understand why it's gone completely dark.

Thought Rare was more than 200 overall but I guess not.

Maybe he's alluding to other employees potentially working on a third game?
