The main reason I don't post much anymore (on any gaming forum, not just here) is that I feel like I don't have much to say in regards to gaming. Most of the games I play have been out for quite some time so there is no active discussion (last two games I beat were Ninja Gaiden and Castlevania on my NES Classic), and I don't find most of the other conversation warrants more than a one sentence post. There isn't really very much this site could do about that other than releasing interesting analyses of games/game design which is a lot to ask.
I appreciate all the work you guys are putting into this place (seriously, from a functionality perspective this site is miles improved from the state it was in a few years ago), but what we need is more from the user/content end, not from the site/charts (imo).
Yeah, with this thread having been as active as it's been so far, I'm very much confident that all we need is better threads. As a user myself, I've never been one to make threads because I didn't feel the need to, it used to be fine just going into other people's threads to talk. But over the years most of the people who made interesting threads left, and we got this scenario where there just aren't good topics to discuss.
My experience with VGC in recent months could be mostly summarized as "open the site, skim through hot topics, "ehh", back to Discord". And I think now that's most people's experience here, actually. All we need is for the hot topics to look better.
