I hadn't planned but while usual browsing tech sites and forums I learned that there is this insane deal - AOC 1440p 75Hz 31.5 inch IPS monitor for ~200 euro/usd, so I sold my old 27 inch 1080p AOC and got it (AOC Q3279VWFD8):

Right off the bat I noticed that the image quality was much better than my old monitor, so that was good, the 1440p is impressive especially in games, and the 75Hz/fps is a nice little bonus over 60Hz in games, but I have one problem with it - it is just too big LOL I never thought it could be a problem but 31.5 inch is just too much for monitor. I have used it for one week and still can't get used to the screen size. Even when gaming with controller or watching vids I want to slide back more and more. Anyway I just wanted to let others know about this insane deal, the competition is twice the price and up.

Nice. I will choose 4K/60fps in April but 1440p and 75fps is dope.

oh it even has a small range of adaptive synch (48Hz-75Hz) if your pc falls a bit short of 75fps

Not a bad choice for that price, and you even get the 75HZ support to boot over 60.

When I upgraded to 1440p, I immediately noticed the the upgrade in visual quality, while I took a bit of time getting used to going above 60. Definitely well worth the buy though.

Nice! I bought my 32" 1440p monitor about three years ago with my new rig, it really is a huge step up from 1080p. And it's nowhere near as taxing as 4K resolution.

You'll get used to the size eventually. When I upgraded from a 42" to 55" TV it seemed way too big but now I feel like I could handle a 60". Enjoy.

Yes, it is surprising to me that 1440p is not that taxing.

Well TV is different, but I think the optimal monitor size is 24 inch.

Nice! I have the opposite problem as you in that I wish there were more plentiful larger monitors/TVs that displayed 1440p. I use my computer from a recliner a few feet from a wall-mounted 42 inch 1080p TV. I definitely don't want to go down in size. If anything, I'd want to increase to somewhere in the range of 49-50 inches. But at that point we're into TV-only territory, and those generally go straight to 4K, which my video card can generally handle, but not necessarily for very long going forward. Would love a larger 1440p display.
