It did last year.

Should have said WW

Gotcha, ya it will probably fall a few million short WW.

Kind of interesting that 3DS is ahead in the big 3 regions (North America+Europe+Japan) but PSP is ahead thanks to a 10+ million lead in RotW.

Thanks a lot for the informative charts. Those are really highly appreciated. What would make a more interesting chart is the Xbox 360 vs PS4.

Xbox One vs PS3 would be interesting as well.

I think I actually have those somewhere. Let me check...

Yep. I have them. Just had to update them. Here you go:

Compared to last february:
PS4: 363K (-22% YOY)
XB1: 310K (-29% YOY)
Switch: 279K (+30% YOY)

So compared to last year xbox had a bigger % drop. Momentum with playstation as we near the end of the gen. I'm surprised ps4 isn't down more. A $50 price drop in February will yield some impressive months this year.

So this month.

Switch = 367K
PS4 = 286K
XB1 = 227K
3DS = 55K

3ds on the way out. Will it ever catch the PSP? Ps4 numbers are good and Switch impressive.

Nah, 3DS will wind up a few million below the PSP.

And GBA for that matter, making it Nintendo's worst selling handheld.

No wonder they've gone the hybrid route. The Wii U is their worst ever home console too right? So a bad gen all round by their standards.

No because that wasnt a home console or a handheld, it was it's own thing.

A terrible attempt at a virtual reality headset.

Thanks a lot.  The lead that PS4 is having over Xbox 360 will quickly disappear from now on. The real question is whether the One will be able to save the lead it has over the PS3? That would be interesting to watch, especially with all digital version coming soon.

My own personal estimates for final lifetime sales for the PS4 & XBO in the U.S. are about 36-38M and 31-33M units, respectively, a combined total of 67-71M, comparable to the 70M units the 360 & PS3 sold combined. That's assuming a 20% YoY drop for 2019 as a whole and a Nov. 2020 release date for both the PS5 and Xbox 4.
